What this site collects
There are no accounts, comments, sign-up forms or ads here. The only thing collected is anonymous visit statistics through Google Analytics: which pages are read, the site that sent you, and your approximate location, device and browser. It tells me which stories people actually read.
In most places Google Analytics sets a first-party cookie to tell a return visit from a new one. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland it runs in a cookieless mode by default and sets no cookies.
What it is not used for
The statistics are not used for advertising, not combined with other data, and not sold or shared. Google processes them under its own privacy policy.
Opting out
Blocking cookies or using a content blocker stops the statistics, and the site works the same without them. Google also offers a browser add-on that opts you out of Google Analytics everywhere.
Share buttons
The share links under a story open Bluesky, X, Facebook, LinkedIn or Reddit only when you click one. Nothing is loaded from those services before that.
